Frequently Asked Questions - How is ISdAC different from other
disabilities projects and organisations?
This is a first draft answer to the question, comments and
improvements welcome! Please comment by mail to ISdAC at secretary@isdac.org
We think the main difference should be:
-
ISdAC is not an exploratory project, it seeks to move from
research, exploration and discussion to widespread
implementation;
-
ISdAC is broadly based - it seeks to include opportunities for
people with all kinds of disabilities;
-
ISdAC is not just for people with disabilities, it is
driven by people with disabilities, providing its own evidence of
the social and economic impact that PwDs can make to the
Information Society;
-
Most relevant projects are "bottom up" - they are
working on particular aspects of the opportunity, ISdAC seeks to
complement this by working "top down" - we seek
support, action and intervention at the highest levels of policy
and society in Europe and in the Member States;
-
ISdAC is not competing with existing projects, institutions and
networks. We seek to link with, support, reinforce and implement
the wide range of excellent work that is already going on.
